Novartis Ireland Limited is the Irish affiliate of Swiss-based Novartis AG – one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Novartis is one of Ireland’s leading employers in the healthcare industry. One of the first pharmaceutical companies to locate in Ireland in the 1950’s, Novartis has a strong history of investing in Ireland over the last sixty years.

Novartis currently employs approximately 1,400 people across 3 locations in Cork and Dublin. Novartis manufacturing and development is based in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork.

In March 2013, Novartis announced the establishment of a Global Business Services Centre in Elm Park, Dublin. Novartis Pharmaceuticals is also based in Elm Park and in 2019, Novartis Gene Therapies located to Santry, Co Dublin. Novartis’ nationwide presence and flexible working options means there are Novartis employees based all over Ireland.

As a global leader in medical technology, services and solutions, Medtronic improves the lives and health of millions of people each year.  With roots in Ireland since 1981, the company now employs more than 4,000 people across five sites in Galway, Dublin and Athlone.

The Parkmore Business Park West facility features a Centre of Excellence for Operations and R&D to support Global Cardiac & Vascular Businesses, as well as a Customer Innovation Centre.  The Mervue operations focus on the development of Respiratory & Monitoring Solutions.  Medtronic Athlone manufactures airways products and also features an R&D Centre of Excellence.

Medtronic’s headquarters and principal executive offices are on Hatch Street, Dublin 2 with the Customer Contact Centre in City West housing customer services, sales and marketing functions.
