Gráinne Gorman is Chief Executive of the Health Research Board (HRB), Ireland’s lead agency supporting and funding health research. In this role, she is responsible for advancing high-quality research that improves people’s health, strengthens the healthcare system and informs evidence-based policy and practice.
Gráinne brings extensive experience in research leadership, strategy and public policy, with a strong track record in managing complex programmes and driving collaboration across academia, healthcare and government. Since joining the HRB, she has focused on enhancing the impact of research investment, supporting data-driven decision-making and fostering innovation across the health ecosystem.
She is committed to ensuring that research translates into real-world outcomes, from improved patient care to more effective health services. Gráinne is recognised for her strategic leadership, collaborative approach and dedication to strengthening Ireland’s position as a leader in health research and innovation.
