Orla is a nursing lecturer at University College Cork with clinical expertise in general, neonatal, and paediatric nursing. She has extensive experience in digital health within Ireland’s maternity and neonatal services and previously served as the national NICU Workstream Lead for the Maternal & Newborn -Clinical Management System (MN-CMS), guiding the design and implementation of the neonatal electronic health record. In 2024, she completed her PhD at UCC, in collaboration with the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre, focusing on implementing a national EHR in neonatal intensive care units.
